About

Specializing in AI-enabled visual detection and data fusion technologies for the maritime industry, Marautec is a leading provider of situational awareness solutions for navigation safety and Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS).

About Us

Leveraging integrated data from AI visual detection, radar, AIS, E-charts, and other sensors, Marautec’s navigation assistant system, Marautec i-EYE, features an intuitive, user-friendly interface that provides a clear and comprehensive view of the surrounding environment during all stages of navigation, under all weather conditions. This system not only significantly enhances navigation safety but is also a critical component of MASS.

Marautec i-EYE covers a wide range of functions, from berthing to navigation, from improved visibility to real-time sea-to-shore visual communication across various ship types. It has received highly positive feedback from leading clients.

Clients & Partners

Marautec works closely with shipping companies, shipyards, research institutions and maritime organizations to accelerate the development of intelligent shipping technologies.

Driving the Future of Autonomous Shipping

Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) are vessels capable of operating with varying degrees of independence from human intervention. As the maritime industry accelerates toward digitalization and intelligent operations, MASS is becoming a key direction for the future of global shipping.

To support the safe development of autonomous vessels, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) is developing the MASS Code, a regulatory framework covering the design, operation, and governance of autonomous ships.

Marautec's Role in MASS

Development

Marautec is actively engaged in advancing both domestic and international standards for autonomous shipping. Through continuous innovation and industry collaboration, Marautec contributes to shaping the technological and regulatory foundation of MASS.

MASS-Oriented Perception Framework

Marautec is among the first to propose a comprehensive situational awareness framework for autonomous vessels:
This framework establishes a systematic approach to perception in complex maritime environments and serves as a critical foundation for safe and reliable autonomous navigation.

Contribution to Standards and Regulations

Marautec works closely with classification societies and industry organizations to promote the integration of advanced technologies into formal standards.
The CCS Intelligent Ship Code, effective in April 2024, officially incorporates visual enhancement systems as a required component for navigation assistance class notation.

Participating in the Formulation of International Rules

As a representative of the IMO MASS rulemaking communication liaison group and an expert unit of the international standards organization ISO/TC8, Marautec is deeply involved in international rule-related work.
Participation in IMO Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) meetings and MASS working groups
As the project leader for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO),Marautec has submitted two fundamental standard proposals regarding MASS, both of which have been approved.
In collaboration with universities and institutions within the industry, a blue paper titled "Analysis of MASS Technology Implementation Path" was released. (Download)
